On November 4, 2025, 106 of our 257 members were in attendance at our sixteenth voting meeting. Members are able to nominate a charity while having a representative from the charity make the presentation. This format allows us to learn about three worthy Sarasota charities and our members’ passion for them.

Project 180, Inc. was the selected charity
Project 180, Inc. Nominated by Stacey Rickelman, Presented by Antonia Rolle
Project 180 seeks to reintegrate formerly incarcerated citizens into community life. Their vision is to reduce poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and criminal behavior among formerly incarcerated citizens.

Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota Nominated by Mary Lou Belise, Presented by Saara Ullery
To provide men and women of our region with the English literacy skills needed to reach their full potential as individuals, parents, workforce participants and as citizens. “Transforming Lives Through Literacy.”

Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota presentation
Suncoast Institute on Chemical Dependency Presented by Member Robin Hain
Their mission is to offer free addiction education and recovery resources to families, churches and communities – everyone seeking a better understanding of addiction disease and its related problem. They customize programs that meet specific needs of the community.

On March 5, 95 of our 242 members were in attendance at our fifteenth voting meeting. Members can nominate a charity while having a representative from the charity make the presentation. This format allows us to learn about three worthy Sarasota charities and our members’ passion for them.

Second Heart Homes, Inc. was the selected charity
We raised $24,100
Second Heart Homes, Inc. also received a $5,000 matching grant by The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, resulting in a total member donation of $29,100.

Second Heart Homes provides housing, support and love for homeless single adults with mental illness.

Hand Up to Victory provides stability, resources and peer support to those seeking recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

Sarasota Children’s Museum Presented by Christina Fredericks (Member)

Sarasota Children’s Museum a museum for children and families, providing interactive exhibits and programs that ignite curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. Their mission is to bring hands on learning to children in Sarasota and surrounding counties. They are going mobile! Steam Machine trailer needs a vehicle.
